IMA at “Industry 4.0: Trends and Solutions in Pharma Packaging” The Group will attend the Roundtable on Track&Trace
It will be an important event to introduce the IMA Digital programme as well as the Group’s latest developments to properly respond to the new Track&Trace and Serialization requirements which are coming into force in the global scenario.
Speakers at the event will be Mr. Zoran Bubalo, Sales Manager at IMA EST, Mr. Riccardo Fiornovelli, IMA LIFE Project Manager for labeling machines, and Mr. Michele Coni, BFB Product Specialist.
The IMA Digital programme summarises all of the projects that represent IMA's commitment to the evolution towards the Smart Factory, Smart Machines, Smart Organisation and Smart Services. IMA's leadership in terms of innovation and technology imposes a highly competitive position also in the challenges of Industry 4.0.
Due to the high increase in the falsification or counterfeiting of pharmaceutical products, all major markets appear to be aligned in their view of the importance of serialization, so as to introduce security features and monitoring during the packaging of medicines.
The IMA Group produces processing and packaging machines as well as complete integrated lines to facilitate the traceability of medicinal products throughout the supply chain. IMA’s scope is to integrate the ground-breaking technologies required for the Track&Trace process into its machines, thus authenticating and identifying each individual labeled product, carton and box.
Many pharmaceutical companies are more and more requiring to track their products with a Data Matrix code. That’s why IMA LIFE has been developing various modular-based solutions in the field of carton labeling, to feature the application of the wide-ranging self-adhesive labels on top/bottom carton’s sides and temper evident seals on carton’s flaps. Thanks to the high flexibility and the compact design of the equipment, the most advanced overprinting and vision systems solutions for Track&Trace compliance and Serialization accountability can also be well-integrated.
IMA SAFE works actively to find the most functional solutions in the field of serialization, both in the primary packaging (blister, bottles or tubes) and in the secondary packaging (cartons). The division has developed a wide portfolio of printing and camera applications to the IMA cartoners, guaranteeing ideal solutions in terms of flexibility and efficiency.
IMA BFB has come up with innovative solutions which can satisfy the most challenging requirements in terms of aggregation, thus ensuring a complete control throughout all stages of the Serialization process. A wide range of tailor-made solutions can safeguard the quality of the product and optimize production process.
IMA SAFE and IMA BFB actively collaborate with the most important suppliers of Track&Trace systems to design and integrate innovative solutions for data collection and storage, with the aim of finding the most appropriate and GMP-oriented solutions.
IMA LIFE, IMA SAFE and IMA BFB have provided a number of solutions to leading, worldwide multinational pharmaceutical enterprises, and many more can be created and customized according to market production requirements or trends.
Established in 1961, IMA is world leader in the design and manufacture of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceuticals.
Here are the divisions involved in Track&Trace processes:
IMA LIFE offers machines for the washing and sterilization of pharmaceutical products, filling and stoppering in aseptic environments of vials, ampoules and “RTF” vials, syringes and cartridges, microdosing and macrodosing of aseptic powders, including isolation technology and containment solutions as well as industrial, pilot and laboratory freeze-dryers, which can be combined with the industry's widest range of automated loading and unloading systems. IMA LIFE also offers filling and closing machines of non aseptic pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, labellers for vials, ampoules and cartons, blowing machines, depackers, tray loading machines and other ancillary equipment.
IMA SAFE division, which includes the production range of IMA SAFE Swiftpack, IMA SAFE Nova, IMA SAFE Co.ma.di.s. and IMA SAFE PG, designs and manufactures complete lines for primary and secondary packaging for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetic industries. IMA SAFE manufactures a complete range of blister packaging machines, capsule and tablet counters, tube fillers and cartoners and provides complete end-of-line solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. In collaboration with Universal Pack, IMA SAFE supplies lines for heat-sealed single-dose sachets and stick packs. High production efficiency, ease of use, low maintenance and a minimal waste of packaging materials are the hallmarks of IMA SAFE machines.
IMA BFB division is a world leader and the ideal partner in the development of equipment with unique designs that combine functionality and ease of use especially when it comes to Track & Trace processes, starting from the smallest saleable unit throughout the complete end of line chain. IMA BFB has designed solutions which can satisfy current and future aggregation requirements and which ensure total control throughout all stages of the serialization process. IMA BFB wide range of tailor-made solutions help satisfy its customers by safeguarding the quality of their products, complying with regulations and optimizing processes.
